Final of Unreal Dierama

At last, I finished my diorama for my Unreal engine.
I was having issues with my camera with adding a cinematic to the introduction of the game. I reseted the camera and tried again. I added the camera to the matinee and set up the blueprints to make sure when the game starts, you first see the camera scene.

I also fixed the lights system in the room. I got rid of the pressing the button part and ust made it to turn on when you get near it.

Finally, I made sure that my door still moves when you get near it.

Dierama

For this assignment, we are suppose to make a little room of any way we want it to be.
In the end, the props that I made look decent, and walls looks like what a mental room would look like.

I also added a particle system to the room to give it an old look, while a horror look to it as well.

I also a few codes in them for the characters to react around to them. I am still working on the bugs, and hopefully by the next post, the player can still react to the area.

For the full result of the area so far, here is the link to the video I created: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6VZjdgQsEc

Here are the missing videos. Sorry for the delay.

Dilerama Pt. 1

In Game Tech, we are designing a simple dilerama in Unreal of an abandoned medical facility. Here is what I want the dilerama:
In Unreal, here is where I block things where I want to be at:

Volumes of Unreal

Finally in Unreal, I learned how to add sounds, animation, and add a thing called Monitor in the game I create. The file gave me a level with rocks and a few crates and tables, and in the end it turned out nice.

I also learned to add sound to the world. You can create a sound and import it into your level ( I used the one the exercise file gave me). Just place the icon in the level and set up the frequency and the sound will be played in the area you placed it in. (I hope you can hear it).

The Plural sight also taught me how to make player and how to interact with the environment around me. I created the character by adding a camera where the head should be, put in some props and code them to make sure everything works the way it should.

I made an interaction where you get near an object, such as the door, and I made it move. You add a matinee to it, program the trigger, and you got yourself a moving door.

Finally I learned how to make a sentence pop up on an object. You go to blueprints and set up a "Monitor" where the object can say whatever you want. Just simply type the sentence or word, code it in the monitor blueprint, place it in the world and watch the words display.

Introduction to Unreal

The next part of Unreal is where I get into more detail when creating landscape and a building. The buildings were created to set up the room, and added both boxes to create space. Outside the box is the landscape. The mountains were created by using the sculpting tool to mold the mountains. I also added the trees and put them in a way to make it look like it's in the distance.
I also learned how to create my own texture. I grab a material from the lessons file and to mess around to make it look like the way I wanted to look like. I also added another material to it to give a old looking style. You can also transform the old rigged texture and change it's color. After I'm done I added it to the world and loved the result.

In the end, the world I created looked the way I was hoping it would. With the lights I created both in the room and the skyline, the shadows looks calming. I also created an object (The pillars) from Maya and imported it in the Unreal universe (I highlighted the pillars). With the on and off light switch, it truly feels like a game room level ready to be played.

My First day on Unreal

For my game tech class, I started to learn how to use In real for the first time.
I learned how to set up a scene with a good skyline, ground, and props to truly set up the scene. The props are easy to move around and set up in the scene. It all takes is a few rotations, movement and scale.

The lights in Unreal are easy to set up few light scenarios such as fire, light bulbs, or added a little light. The box surrounding the light is a trigger volume that helps determine when the light switches on or off.
This is the trigger volume that helps turn off and on in the world. In the end, the lights should look like this:

I also learned this camera scene option called Matinee.
In the option bar, you get to set up hoe the camera.

In the end, it will look like this:
